Q: Is VAT charged on the Duty amount?
A: Yes. VAT is calculated on the total landed cost, which is (CIF Value + Customs Duty).

A: Imports destined for a Free Zone are generally not subject to customs duty. Duty is only payable if the goods are moved from the Free Zone to the UAE mainland.
